We’ve mentioned our Wheels of Forfeit and Fortune quite a lot here on the Gamely Giving site and it’s time for an update on how both of these are going. In case you haven’t yet heard: the former will see us undertake challenges for your viewing pleasure, while the latter will give our supporters the chance to win prizes when we hit fundraising milestones. Sounds good, right?
The Wheel of Forfeit
Send us your forfeit suggestions via email or our social media channels and we’ll add them into the list on our dedicated page. Then every time we reach £100 in donations, the wheel will be spun to determine our fate – and we’ll complete the selected challenges live during our 72-hour stream at the end of the month.
We’ve received 15 forfeits so far but are still looking for more ways to embarrass ourselves, so please keep your ideas coming. While we’re definitely up for a laugh, we do reserve the right to not add any suggestion received which may result in physical harm or damage to SpecialEffect’s reputation… our own reputation however is a completely different matter.
Keep your eyes open for a post coming from Nathan next week, in which he has interviewed the team and asked them which forfeits they’re least looking forward to.
The Wheel of Fortune
Every time we reach £100 in donations, we’ll be selecting one of our lucky supporters at random to win one of the special PC-game-bundles listed on our dedicated page. All you need to do to be entered is to follow us on any of our social media channels or make a donation – but please make sure you stick to the rules, otherwise we’ll disqualify you (and your 40 aliases).
We’d like to say a huge thank you to all of the developers and publishers who have kindly donated games for the bundles and give a shout-out to the awesome team from Excalibur Games. Not only have they provided physical copies of some of their titles including Shoppe Keep, they’ve also given us a couple of forfeits and will donate £100 to if we go through with them. Head over to our Twitch channel at 21:00 GMT on Friday, 28 April 2017 to see the Gamely Giving team cosplay as the Dad Quest protagonist (we’re in the process of getting our fake moustaches ready).
So you get the chance to win video games while we complete forfeits and embarrass ourselves silly for charity; surely that’s got to be worth a donation? All money raised via our JustGiving page goes directly to SpecialEffect, an organisation which puts fun and inclusion back into the lives of people with physical disabilities using equipment such as modified gaming controllers and eye-control systems.
