SpecialEffect is an amazing charity that aims to put fun and inclusion back into the lives of those with physical disabilities by helping them play video games, using technology ranging from modified joypads to eye-control systems. Levelling the playing field has a profoundly positive impact on therapy, rehabilitation and confidence – and what’s more, they do all of this work free of charge.
Following on from our participation in their annual GameBlast event back in April during which we raised £832.90 and played for 72-hours straight, we’ll be continuing our support for the charity by streaming to our Twitch channel continuously for 16-hours as part of Ethan’s Mini Marathon. We’re graciously asking our supporters to sponsor us: all donations received via our JustGiving page and text number above will go straight to SpecialEffect, helping them to continue their awesome work.
For every £1 donated, ten-year old Ethan will place a block of TNT on a massive structure in his Minecraft world along with a sign showing the supporter’s name. He’ll light it at the end of the stream and see how much destruction it causes!
Find out more about the games we’re going to be streaming over on our schedule page.
